Khan Bank's
head office is located in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, and it houses
executive and administrative offices, as well as a full service bank. There are
21 regional branch offices throughout the country, each of which supervises an
additional 15 to 25 smaller branches in its area. The regional branches are
fully automated centers for consolidating the region's service activities, and
they are connected to the head office by satellite. Each branch directly serves
the banking needs of a community of 15,000 to 60,000 people.
Even the
smallest branches, with a two or three person staff and minimal overhead, offer
full banking services to their local communities.
Khan Bank
currently has over 3,786 employees -485 are based in Ulaanbaatar at the
headquarters and city branches, and the remaining are based in the 436 regional
and local branches.

motivated bankers who are moving Khan Bank and Mongolia to new levels of

Khan Bank's
roots go back 80 years to the State Bank of Mongolia. When this monopoly bank
was broken up in 1991, Khan Bank was formed to take over most of the State Bank
of Mongolia's regional and local offices throughout the country.
